Team CAN Do It

Wednesday, November 03, 2021 | HACD News

Hebrew Academy of the Capital District’s 6th grade class is a close-knit group that enjoys collaborating and creating together. Every month, we focus on a different midah (Jewish value) and how we can learn about, talk about, and practice it both in and out of school. This month, we will be learning about, talking about, and practicing the Jewish value of Hakarat HaTov, which is gratitude. We are grateful to be part of our team – Team CAN Do It – and we appreciate the chance to help the Shalom Food Pantry in their mission to provide healthy food packages to individuals and families who are struggling financially.

When we think about this year’s Kids CAN Build theme, “Spreading the Warmth,” we thought about places and spaces that spread warmth. Our discussions led us to realize that, for us, spreading warmth means being welcoming and inclusive and we are excited to construct something that is both of those things. If you live in the Albany area, you will be able to see what we’ve built at Crossgates Mall! Our design will be on display beginning December 6, 2021.

We are grateful for your support and donations. We will use the funds you donate to buy cans for our structure, and then those cans will then be donated to the Shalom Food Pantry for them to give away. Thank you so much and Todah Rabah!
