Message from the President

Amarit Rosin, President

Having our children attend HACD has been, and continues to be, a privilege.

As the parent of current HACD students, graduates, and spouse to an alumnus, our family’s connection to the school runs deep. Hearing the laughter in the Parparim room, seeing the pride of our kids receiving their first siddur and chumash, sharing the accomplishment over a hard-earned grade, and cheering our athletes from the sidelines are just a few of the many memories made over the years.

HACD is a true community, with teachers who get to know our students well in small classroom settings. This allows them to work with each child’s strengths and needs to ensure that they are being supported, whether advancing a student up to a higher math level or modifying Hebrew language learning for kids who need more time. The other parents and families are friends who rely on each other in times of joy and hardship. Nothing is more fun than celebrating bnei mitzvah with the entire HACD community, regardless of the synagogue affiliation. These connections can, and do, last a lifetime.

Our role as parents, trustees and community members is to work together to make HACD’s vision a reality and ensure that every Jewish student who wants to attend can, regardless of financial needs. By supporting our leadership team and teachers, we can partner with them to provide an outstanding education in Judaic and secular studies. Aside from their academic accomplishments, our graduates are confident Jews as they go out into the world. They are proud to be Jewish and take the core Jewish values they learned at HACD with them as they become adults with their own goals and ambitions. We see our students and graduates participating in services at synagogue, volunteering throughout the community, attending Jewish summer camps and spending time in Israel, where they continue to learn and grow.

HACD gives our children the confidence to be proud, knowledgeable Jews, with the traditional values and academic foundation to be part of the next generation of Jewish leaders.
