Transitioning to Day School

Making the most of individualized education
We welcome students to start their Day School education when they, and their families are ready. Students entering our lower school after Kindergarten (grades 1-5) who have never studied Hebrew as a spoken language receive extra support in Hebrew with the goal of sitting for the Checkpoint B exam in Hebrew at the end of eighth grade. Students entering our middle school (grades 6-8) who have never studied Hebrew as a spoken language are placed in our Mechina track.

We have supports in place to ensure that students are as successful as possible in an environment where they expect to learn and be challenged.

Students who complete our Middle School curriculum are eligible to graduate in eighth grade with accelerated standing in High School. We offer students the opportunity to sit for Regents exams at the end of eighth grade in Algebra, Science (Living Environments), Checkpoint B in Hebrew and Checkpoint A in Spanish.
